Kenji Sasaki

Originally from Kyoto, Japan, Kenji left home after graduating middle school and started his career in the United States. Kenji attended high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, continued his studies at the Eastman School of Music for his Bachelor’s degree, and earned a Master’s of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Kenji’s principal teachers have included Shunsuke Hino, Crispin Campbell, Alan Harris, Ko Iwasaki and Stephen Geber.

Kenji has received full scholarships to attend summer programs at the Aspen Music Festival and National Repertory Orchestra.

He has led the cello sections in orchestras at schools as well as Firelands Symphony Orchestra in 2015.

Kenji is a big fan of Bayern Munich and Dream Theater.
