Elliot Lee is currently a first-year fellow with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He most recently is from Connecticut where he received his master’s degree from the Yale School of Music, under the guidance of Syoko Aki. While in Connecticut, he had the opportunity to perform in many different orchestral settings such as the New Haven Symphony, Hartford Symphony, and Eastern Connecticut Symphony as well as the Yale Philharmonia. He also received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he studied under Elizabeth Chang.
Elliot is also an avid performer of New Music and seeks to bring more attention to composers in that genre. He has performed at the Five College New Music Festival in Amherst, MA, as well as championing many orchestral and chamber works through Yale’s New Music New Haven concert series.
As a Fellow of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Elliot hopes to integrate himself into the rich musical landscape that Chicago has to offer. He is passionate about teaching and experiencing music in all different settings and is looking to expand his musical range.
